Outdoor news: 2025 trends in outdoor furniture
Outdoor news: 2025 trends in outdoor furniture – As soon as the first rays of the sun start to appear more regularly, we know it’s the time of year for outdoor furniture.
Terraces and gardens are preparing to be dressed with the latest trends of the best contemporary design brands: Cassina, Kettal, Dedon, Gandía Blasco… Let's see what trends await us in the summer of 2025 in outdoor spaces, such as armchairs, sofas, tables, rugs or even a barbecue.
Although we have come from a slightly abnormal year, this does not stop. More precisely, whoever stops pedaling will fall off the bike. In other words, without a fair but with great excitement, the big companies in the sector are presenting their newest outdoor products.
Broadly speaking, organic shapes, natural fabrics and modular pieces are the most popular trends in a year when individuals and professionals are increasingly interested in outdoor spaces. Gardens, terraces, decks, rooftops and balconies are now our little oases of well-being.
Trampoline, Patricia Urquiola archipelago for Cassina
Organic shapes, woven polypropylene and nylon rope form the central axis of the new Italian collection designed by the artistic director. It includes a loveseat (the main attraction), an armchair, a two-seater sofa and three modules that can be combined to create the composition each wishes. “The out-of-scale interlacing that accompanies the back of the armchair alludes to the taut ropes of the trampolines, which in turn become tassels on the cushions,” explains Urquiola.

Geometric patterns and prints also feature through pads of different shapes and sizes. And as we live in times of demand, everything is made from recycled and eco-friendly materials.

KIDA is Stephen Burks' flying seesaw for DEDON
It’s not Burks’ first collection for DEDON, but it’s certainly his most streamlined. The KIDA hanging chair is as aesthetically pleasing as it is in use. The KIDA invites you to cradle it and swing above infinity. To figure that out, Burks worked closely with DEDON’s master weavers in the Philippines. Drawing on his experience there, he says, “it was magical to be in the factory and challenge everyone to find new ways of doing things.”
It consists of an aluminium frame covered with fibre that is particularly soft to the touch. The cushions, both for the body and the small one for the head, are plush.
The new Molo is Rodolfo Dordoni's puzzle for Kettal
Like a jigsaw puzzle, the collection articulates and assembles in a completely customizable way. Its orthogonal geometry is designed as a grid that adapts to any space and situation. Each module can be disassembled and rearranged, allowing for infinite configurations, even curves, with 60º corners.
A rational design of large-sized volumes with all intentions. Stripped of all decorative details, Dordoni wanted to highlight the multitude of fabric, colour and finish combinations in the collection. It includes, among others, three different foot systems (teak, concrete or aluminium) and new integrated side tables.
CAPA, Søren Rose's sincere philosophy for Gandía Blasco
Rose has combined the Scandinavian concept of hygge (describing a delicious, cozy and inviting mood) with the Mediterranean modus vivendi. The result is a collection of three pieces (armchair, loveseat and coffee table) that stands out for its minimalism and simplicity.
CAPA also stands out for its great resistance to harsh weather conditions. “The environment is changing, which leads to unusual weather conditions that can be a real challenge when creating outdoor pieces. The elements must be able to cope with the wear caused by these extreme climatic situations,” explains the Danish designer.
Vineyard, Ramón Esteve's home for Vondom
Like a small retreat with a classic gable roof, Vondom's new daybed is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset. Its structure is made of aluminum and the interior double and reclining bed increase your comfort.
Available in two versions: Sunvision with fabric roof or with braided rope in stainless structure.
ARP, Made Studio for Diabla’dan metal arplar
The tubular structure in textured thermo-lacquered aluminium is the starting point of this light and colourful Diabla collection, very suitable for its youthful style. Its authors, Borja García and Laura Ros of Made Studio, explain that «the general concept lies in the widespread use of metal in England in the 19th century, when the Crystal Palace was positioned as the maximum exponent of structural and compositional possibilities of this material. This gives rise to the characteristic motif on all the backs of the collection, a geometric sequence built on vertical aluminium lines that remind us of harp strings.»
This is how this set, consisting of an armchair, a two-seater sofa, cushions and two tables in various sizes, became a collection that is as chameleon-like as it is completely contemporary. Its multiple configurations and variety of colours allow it to suit any space at any time of year.
Three, from nanimarquina. Internal and external.
Launched in 2016, the Tres rug collection designed by Nani Marquina and Elisa Padrón quickly became the new bestseller of the Barcelona brand. Its success responds to a timeless, yet contemporary design at an affordable price that does not compromise the usual quality standard.

Today the brand is launching an exterior version of the original model made from 100% recycled PET fibre. As always, there is craftsmanship in the manufacturing technique, in this case the Dhurrie.

Bubble, a barbecue in the garden, Christophe Ploye for Focus
Fireplace in the garden? Yes. And barbecue too. Focus, the reference brand for fireplaces with contemporary design, is adding a barbecue and barbecue family to its outdoor range this year (there are already seven fireplace models). It is called Bubble and is portable thanks to its two rear wheels. It can also be easily dismantled for cleaning and maintenance. Its matte black finish includes an anti-corrosion coating that guarantees resistance to all types of weather conditions.
Christophe Pillet for the point
The Alicante company, winner of the 2025 National Design Award, faces three new collections for the summer season by Frenchman Christophe Pillet. Among them, City stands out, a tribute to Mediterranean culture. Composed of three pieces (an armchair, a two-seater sofa and another three-seater), it combines a powder-coated aluminum structure with teak arms. The best? Its fluffy cushions.
«With this collection I try to define in a contemporary way a Mediterranean art of living that has nothing to do with time. Pillet is a universe where the sun and the earth come together», he explains.
