Robert Redford sells his Californian mansion
At 82 years old, Robert Redford You can say that he is one of the actors with the best billing in Hollywood. It is true that we will no longer see him act in new films because he decided to retire last August, but at least we will always have time to see films like ‘War Hunt’, with which he made his film debut in 1962, or ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’, with which he won a BAFTA award for best actor in 1970. In addition, we must not forget that in 2001 he was awarded an Honorary Oscar in recognition of his long career professional.
Leaving aside everything that has to do with work, today I want to focus on mansion which he still has in California. Why do I say “still”? Well, because it has just been put up for sale for the modest price of 6.6 million euros, an amount that only businessmen, actors, singers, athletes can aspire to…
A huge property that lacks nothing
The property in question measures more than 40,000 square meters and it was acquired by Redford in 2004. He liked both its architecture and the environment (it is full of vegetation), so he did not hesitate to approve an investment that he now hopes to recover.
Although the farm is very large, in total there is “only” 485 habitable square meters. They are divided into 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a gym, an art studio, a swimming pool, a large terrace area, a workshop, a garden… In addition, it does not lack all kinds of luxuries such as a state-of-the-art hot tub.
They have moved to San Francisco
From what we have been able to learn, the reason for the sale responds to family issues. His wife, the German painter Sibylle Szaggarswanted to move to the San Francisco Bay Area and that’s what they’ve done. This way they can be closer to family. And of course, to move house they didn’t have to wait to sell this one in California like every neighbor’s son would do. They have bought another one while they wait for the real estate agency to give them good news.
